Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild - A Community of Quilters

Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild is a community of quilters who gather for friendship, sewing, and donating our time & talents. We believe that quilting is a form of art that brings people together, and we are dedicated to fostering that sense of community through our work. Our members come from all backgrounds and skill levels, and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for quilting.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced quilter, we invite you to join us and be part of our vibrant community. Together, we can create beautiful works of art that will inspire and delight for years to come.

History of the Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild

In August, 2011, Kendall County Women's Shelter Board of Director Judi Burr organized a group of volunteers to make quilts for the newly opened women's shelter at Boerne's local community center.  Our quilting community showed their many talents and generosity. Enough quilts were completed for all of the beds at the shelter and several attendees expressed interest for a quilting guild.  Attendees were excited to be able to contribute their sewing skills and be with other quilters/sewists.  A survey was performed by Judi to see how much interest was generated for a guild leading to the first meeting of the Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild in the Fall of 2011 at Pat Grey's Embroidery shop.

CCQG quickly outgrew that location ad moved to the YMCA, then to First United Methodist Church, eventually ending up at the Patrick Heath Public Library.  As the guild grew, members voted on our current name of Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild which was suggested by Sarah Jimenez. She was inspired by the creek that meanders through Kendall County feeling the guild would be bigger than Boerne itself.

Our original logo shown below was developed by Sterling Bey who took that same thought and created the design. (We still use this logo extensively to this day.)
